Kung Fu
(Wushu, Chuang Chuan, Nanquan)

* The realisation of a human being in the arts of the human body *

The origins of the martial art Kung Fu is the famous Shaolin monastry of Chinese monks. Kung Fu means the realisation of a human being in the arts of the human body and fighting. The goal of these taoistic moves is the experience of the unity between body and spirit.

The Kung Fu style "Wushu" is one of the five best known styles. The training comprises four parts: 1. Fist fight (long fist style from the north "Chunag Chuan" and the short fist style from the south "Nanguan"), 2. Weapon games (the long stick "Bo", which is considered an extension of the arm), 3. Exercise with a partner (There is a difference between "external" Kung Fu training for ligaments, sinews, muscles, bones and skin and the "inner" Kung Fu training of the spirit and Chi through soft moves) and 4. Group exercises (Internalisation of the Tao-lu form is mastered).
